CYNTWELL PRINCE CARDI 21646 born 1980 sire HEWID CARDI
dam: BRYNALLMA DAISY g.sire:LLANARTH FLYING COMET
I have put on a new page all about Cardi because so many people ask me have I had any news about him.
I should think that by now he will have passed on as he was born in 1980. that's were I will start my story.
I had been to a show with a couple of friends of mine Mr Harry and Mrs Pauline Hays. who breed Arabs and Anglo Arabs. It was Anglesey Show. I had gone to help them and while I was there I saw a big black stunning Welsh Cob being ridden and I was hooked.
In my mind I said I want one of those. It is not often that you see something that makes your hairs on your arms stand up, but that's how it was.So I bought the Horse and Hound magazine and looked through the adverts to see if there was anything for sale.
.The only thing I knew about welsh cobs was that there was a beauty that you got a snippet of at the beginning of the Horse of the Year Show on telly and that it was called LLANARTH FLYING COMET.
Low and behold there was a cob foal for sale that was LLANARTH FLYING COMET X HEWID CARDI blood lines and after a quick phone call just to enquire how much it was--- just so that I would know how much I would have to spend --- when I wanted one ( ah ah).
Next there was a couple of photos in the post just to look at --- don't you know ( just checking)
It's a long way to go to just look ---( don't you know). when the photos arrived he jumped out at us from the picture -- so now I own a WELSH COB.
We get him home and become firm friends with the man who bred him MR J.F. GROVES (red). still don't know what the JF stands for.
I am going to put on this page photos of CARDI. I hope you all enjoy them. I have had a brilliant time with him and did just about everything .RIDE.DRIVE.JUMP.SWIM.SERVED MARES. but not in that order. ( you can guess which he liked the best)
The first time I took him to a show as a yearling we came out to the judge, I asked him to stand for the judge---.Stand.--- Not him.--- He just got down and rolled in front of him. I should have guessed then what he was going to be like. A REAL CHARACTER
That was 1980 when I was BRYMAR STUD and he stayed with me until my divorce in 1991 and within a few years he was lost --- sold and re-sold on to someone in SCOTLAND area.
How can a horse disappear like that?--- but he did.
He has lots of babies around still and they are all doing their jobs. Being ridden , driven, jumping and swimming and I hope giving their owners as much pleasure as he gave me.
TO TELL YOU ALL HE GOT UP TO WOULD FILL MANY BOOKS
BUT I DON'T THINK THERE ARE MANY HORSES AROUND WITH
AS MUCH CHARISMA AS HE
I used to advertise Cardi by writing poems and someone asked me to put some of them on here.
